Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles to Race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
The Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles will compete in a two-lap race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday, May 22 at 2 p.m. ET. Six vehicles styled as hot dogs will take part ahead of the Indianapolis 500. The event will be televised on FOX and FOX One.
The Wienermobiles represent different regions of the United States, including the Slaw Dog for the Southwest, the New York Dog for the East, and the Chi Dog for the Midwest. Each vehicle reaches a top speed of between 60 and 70 miles per hour. The Slaw Dog won the inaugural race at the speedway last year.
The winner receives a Wiener’s Wreath in Victory Lane. The six cars that competed were the Slaw Dog, Chi Dog, New York Dog, Sonoran Dog, Chili Dog, and Seattle Dog.
The 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 24 at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX One, and the FOX Sports app.
